ScaleUp Radio

Aug 8, 2022

Hello, I’m Granger Forson. Welcome to this week’s episode of ScaleUp Radio.

This week I’m speaking to John Fisher from Westway IT, who specialise in looking after the IT needs for micro and small businesses.

What is interesting is hearing John’s reasons for starting the business. It starts with redundancy, but becomes about working with Core Values, one of which was loyalty.

As always, there are some great takeaways from our conversation, including:

 - Grab the opportunities that present themselves to you. Don’t be afraid of failing. That’s not to say that you should be reckless, but try not to be overcautious

  • The power of peer to peer networking to strengthen your network, and broaden your knowledge base - not just your client base.
  • A business can be built on the values of education, loyalty and quality relationships.

What I feel is really fascinating in our conversation is hearing just how the core values of the business are so vital to John and Westway IT. Also, how he doesn’t want the relationship between him and his clients to be purely transactional - he wants a proper working relationship with them.

I know that, even if you’re not in the IT industry, you’ll find something of value in this episode.
