On this week’s episode of ScaleUp Radio, I’m speaking to Tom Field from UV Tech Hygienics.
They are a company that work with businesses of all shapes and sizes and in many industries, and helps them to sterilise their workplace, through the use of UV light.
Obviously, for a company like UV Tech Hygienics that deals with cleanliness and sterilisation, their time has been taken up an awful lot with the Covid-19 pandemic which has impacted all of our businesses over the past 18 months, and it was valuable to hear how Tom and the company dealt with this - and Tom’s reaction to the ‘opening up’ of the world in the past few months.
As well as talking about cleanliness and the usefulness of UV Light in all of it’s different forms, we talk mainly about being a CEO and running a business.
There’s plenty of ground covered in our conversation, including:
- It’s okay if the idea of your ideal client or customer is a very broad one. More of a concept, than a specific person or group of people
- Accepting that mistakes will be made in your scale up journey. Your looking to find a successful working model for your business, and it’s rare for that to happen on the first try.
- You can not underestimate the place that both listening and attitude have in the success of your business; with clients, with the other founders and with your staff.
