ScaleUp Radio

Mar 2, 2020

There was a piece in Worcester News in October of 2000, talking about a local squash star called Luke Rawlins.

In the article, Luke talked about his recent win in the County Squash Championship and how his aim was set on the British Championships - and the Commonwealth Games in 2002.

Unfortunately for Luke, an injury meant that none of that would ever come to pass, but squash’s loss was the business world’s gain.

In this episode of ScaleUp Radio, Kevin Brent speaks to Luke Rawlins from S2 MPS, which is a managed print services provider.

Luke’s journey was by no means a simple one, and it’s fascinating to hear him tell the story of how he went from one successful career path to another - and the lessons that he’s learned along the way.

It was an very wide-ranging conversation with Luke, and we covered a lot of ground, including:

 - How do you switch your focus when your life plan changes

 - Why you should listen to what people with experience tell you - but don’t stop trying new things

 - The need to definitely have a goal for the first year, but don’t expect too much

 - Knowing when you are limiting the business, because you can’t deal with all of the new business that is coming through the company on your own.

I also want to thank Luke for speaking to us whilst, as you’ll hear, he was dealing with a bit of a cold! It’s a fascinating story so for from Luke - and he’s only really at the beginning of his ScaleUp journey with S2 MPS.
