In this episode of ScaleUp Radio, Kevin Brent speaks to Richard Cox, the Managing Director of Langley Business Systems. They are an EPoS (Electronic Point of Sale) and payment solutions company.
Rich joined the company 28 years ago and took over the running of the business in 2005, overseeing a team of 14 and 600 customers who are mainly in the hospitality or food & drink service industry.
So, as you can imagine, Rich and Langley Business Systems was hit very hard when the lockdown happened.
However, he decided that he would not take it lying down. As well as furloughing his staff - he also decided to look at the company from the ground up - he saw it as a chance to look at the business; it’s image, it’s systems, its structure - and see what could be changed and improved, meaning that when it opens its doors again, it would be stronger than ever.
Whilst he was doing that, though - he also started a completely new business too!
This is a great conversation with Rich. One of dogged determination, ingenuity and imagination.
